That was an understatement.

Leading Pingree 6-0 in the New England Prep Clark-Francis Bowl, Brooks was in the process of running out the clock with 2:09 left in the game.

Coke's big day vaults Brooks

DEDHAM — Behind a career day by Andover's Andrew Coke, Brooks just kept rolling.

The sophomore gave his squad the lead with a sack of the QB in the end zone for a safety, and added the second score on a rushing touchdown as Brooks downed Nobles 23-0.

Brooks bursts past Governor's

NORTH ANDOVER — Brooks bounced back nicely from its first loss of the season with a solid 31-7 victory over The Governor's Academy.

Ahead 10-7 at halftime, the Green and White scored 21 straight points in the third quarter to pull away. Jordan Johnson (16 rushes, 107 yards) led the outburst with a 23-yard pass to Brian Chalebois, Andrew Coke then threw a 45-yard halfback pass to Methuen's Jason Buco and Johnson completed the scoring with a 23-yard run.

Belmont Hill halts Brooks, 35-13

BELMONT — The Brooks Express came to a an abrupt halt yesterday in a 35-13 loss to Belmont Hill.

After four straight wins to start the season, Brooks was no match for a Belmont Hill squad (4-1) which, according to Brooks coach Alex Konovalchik, "had several good athletes but was mainly just too physical up front."

Brooks, Rivers

For the first time since prior to Eagle-Tribune sports recordkeeping, Brooks is 4-0.  The Green and White earned its fourth win with a 30-27 decision over Rivers.

Brooks entered the fourth quarter down by seven (21-14) but put up 16 points that went unanswered until teh game's final play.

Brooks, Middlesex

Andrew Coke's seven-yard touchdown run with just over four minutes to play proved to be the difference for Brooks in a 14-7 win over Middlesex.

The victory improves the Green and White to 3-0 for the first time in 19 years (1990).

Brooks improves to 2-0

GROTON — Surprising Brooks improved to 2-0 with an impressive 27-16 victory at the Groton School.

Jordan Johnson led the way with 108 rushing yards and two touchdowns as well as a 35-yard TD pass to Jason Buco. Johnson's 55-yard scoring run in the third quarter was the nail in the coffin for Groton (1-1).

Brooks runs away from Roxbury

LAWRENCE — Although he was held in check much of the game, Jordan Johnson proved he is capable of scoring from anywhere on the field.

The senior quarterback scored three times and added a touchdown pass to power Brooks to a season-opening 27-10 victory over Roxbury last night at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
