Phillips Exeter freshman A.J. Pedro of Methuen was the top local placer at the Prep nationals at Lehigh University yesterday. He placed third at 152 pounds, winning 7-5 in the consolation finals. His only loss in the tournament was to Blair Academy's Mason Manville in the semifinals. Manville later became the 152-pound champion.

He was caught on a big hit and tended to by trainers. A teammate helped him off the ice. MC coach John McLean tweeted at about 2:30 p.m., "We’ll have to take him to the doctor to see if he has a concussion and go from there. He's conscious and sitting up."
