Andrew Konovalchik may have been the star of the day, but it was definitely a team effort by the Brooks wrestling team yesterday.
Brooks placed in all 14 weight classes on its way to its first Kelsey Graves Independent School League title since 2005.
Brooks finished first with 295 points with Belmont Hill second at 244.
"It was really a great day for us," said Brooks coach Alex Konovalchik. "It's the first time since I've been coaching that we placed in every weight class."
The Green and White had four champions, led by Andrew Konovalchik at 160 pounds. He was not only named the tourney Outstanding Wrestler but he won the award for most pins in least amount of time. He pinned four opponents in 2:32.
Joining him with titles were 126-pounder David Crosby, 170-pounder Nate Gibeley and 220-pounder Geoff Fulgione. Finishing second were Andrew Bolte (138), Nick Konovalchik (145) and heavyweight Tommy Connelly.
Brooks qualified 13 wrestlers for next weekend's New England Prep meet, which it is hosting.
