Phillips Exeter freshman A.J. Pedro of Methuen was the top local placer at the Prep nationals at Lehigh University yesterday. He placed third at 152 pounds, winning 7-5 in the consolation finals. His only loss in the tournament was to Blair Academy's Mason Manville in the semifinals. Manville later became the 152-pound champion.
Brooks had two placers from co-captains Andrew Konovalchik and Nate Gibeley. Konovalchik was sixth at 160 while Nate Gibeley came in fifth at 170, winning his last match 10-6. Phillips Academy's Christian Vallis was eighth at 132.
