SALEM — In the final minute of a one-point playoff game, seedings and regular-season records simply don't matter.

Salem boys basketball launched two shots in the final seconds. One was no good and the other was blocked as the No. 2-seeded Blue Devils were stunned 63-62 by No. 15 seed Dover in a Division 1 first round game. 

Ben Slepian had a night to remember to spark Salem's boys basketball team to an impressive 73-51 victory over Bishop Guertin and the No. 2 seed in next week's Division 1 tournament, which begins Tuesday. Slepian hit eight 3-pointers (one off the school record) and was 7 for 7 in the first half when he scored 27 of his game-high 32 points and outscored BG by himself. Jonny Klecan had six assists in the first half and 11 for the game for the Blue Devils (15-6).

Senior Night was special in Salem's 75-63 victory over Concord. Ben Slepian was a machine at the foul line, making 11 in a 20-point effort, Jonny Klecan had 15 points and 8 assists, while Joseph Dube and Julio Romero combined for 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Joseph Dube and Ben Slepian combined for 18 points in the first quarter, helping Salem open the game on a 22-0 run and a 30-7 lead after the first, as the Blue Devils cruised to a 76-41 win over Keene. Slepian finished with a game-high 19 points and Dube ended the day with 17.

Ben Slepian sunk a whopping seven 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 25 points, but a late Salem 3 was off the mark and the Blue Devils fell to Trinity 52-49.

It took a bunch of big overtime efforts but Salem finally downed Manchester West, 84-79 in two extra sessions. Danny Salvo (eight points) drew a timely charge in the first overtime, Jonny Klecan (19 points, 10 assists, 10 of 13 from the foul line in OT) put the Blue Devils on top, Steve Nugent's putback made it a two-possession game and Ben Slepian (26 points) locked up the win with big 3-pointers and a pair of late free throws.

Senior Ben Slepian netted a career high 30 points to lead Salem 66-61 over Manchester Central.

Slepian scored 13 points in the fourth. He netted a 3-pointer with a little more than 1:00 left to make it a six-point game. 

Joe Dube knocked down a layup, drew a foul and hit the free throw to turn a 3-point lead into six and lock up Salem's 62-56 victory over Winnacunnet.

Salem hit six 3-pointers in the first quarter for all its points while taking an 18-9 lead on its way to a 72-42 rout of Dover. Ben Slepian led the way with five 3-pointers, including three in the opening frame, and 23 points as the Blue Devils drilled nine 3-pointers overall. Jonny Klecan had 12 points and 10 assists as Salem outscored Dover 45-28 in the second half.
