Windham nearly overcame a 20-point deficit as its third quarter rally pulled the Jaguars to within single-digits. Windham (13-10), seeded ninth in the Division 2 tourney, closed the gap to three midway through the fourth quarter but could not get any closer in a 61-55 loss to No. 1 Souhegan (19-0).
Bernadette Connors scored 15 to lead Windham and Clairee Putnam had 12. Kerry White had 10 points and 15 rebounds.
"In the second half we did the little things to be successfull," said Windham head coach Joe Mason. "We played together, hard and smart. To go 13-10 in our first was a good accomplishment for the program."
