For the first time this year, Newburyport won back-to-back games as the Clippers were lead by a balanced scoring attack of four girls in double figures. The win also officially eliminated Triton from playoff contention.
Newburyport coach Neil Reardon said it was a great win for his team, who lost to the Vikings by 26 points in the first game of the year. Lindsey Tomasz (9 rebounds and 4 steals) and Sam Baribeault led the Clippers with 13 points, followed by Beth Castantini and Caitlin Hill with 11 points. Brittany Caprio had a game-high 15 points for the Vikes followed by Jen Rock's 13 points and Rachelle Bourque's 11 points.
