MANCHESTER, N.H. | Less than four and a half minutes into the game, and it was already over.
The first time an Astro had a chance to handle the ball, Eric Guinto ran back a punt 60 yards for a touchdown. Bobby Dattilo added a score, the first of four for the senior back, at 7:32 to essentially ice the game for Pinkerton, which rolled to a 53-6 win over Manchester Memorial.
The win saw Pinkerton improve to 6-0 with a much easier second-half Division 1 schedule remaining.
The Pinkerton defense did not get complacent. Colby Verge recovered a fumble on Memorial's next play from scrimmage and on the next series Steve Eurieck picked off a pass inside the Pinkerton 10.
Mike LaRocque sandwiched a touchdown between two Peter Mazzola long scoring strikes to a wide-open Dattilo to go up 34-0 early in the second quarter.
By halftime it was 41-6, and O'Reilly pulled all the starters out of the game to start the third quarter.
The luxury has been a rare one for Pinkerton, which has battled to the end against the brass of Division 1 for the past month.
