The Brooks boys basketball team recorded a sweet payback victory over Beaver Country Day, 54-36, in the first round of the Class B prep tournament yesterday. Beaver Country Day is the defending B champ and knocked Brooks out of the tournament last year.
Playing without starter Dylan Quigley, who suffered a concussion last week and is out for the year, Brooks pulled away from a 28-26 halftime lead by playing some suffocating defense in the second half.
Jayde Dawson led Brooks (19-5), whioch will play No. 1 seed Suffield in the semifinals Friday, with 23 points and 11 rebiounds while David Berroa chipped in with 18 points.
