Brooks boys basketball beat Beaver County Day School 64-41 to win the 7th annual Patrick J. Harrington Classic. Darrel Yepdo led the way for Brooks with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals, and Brady Cummins added 21 points in the victory.

Salem's George Smith scored a game-high 24 points to earn MVP honors as Brooks rolled past Beaver Country Day 77-51 to win the Patrick J. Harrington Classic. Myles Foster added 17 points and 11 rebounds for Brooks (10-1), which dealt Beaver Country its fourth loss of the season (10-4).

NORTH ANDOVER —  The streak continued for the Brooks boys' basketball team Wednesday afternoon, but it didn't come easily.

Behind 25 points from Brian Wright-Kinsey and 16 from Preston Santos, Brooks held off pesky Beaver Country Day, 60-56, in the quarterfinals of the New England Class B tournament for its 64th straight victory.

Former Central Catholic player Chyna Bullen scored a game-high 23 points as Bradford Christian Academy opened its season by downing Beaver Country Day 64-59.

Brooks lost a defensive battle to Beaver Country Day, 44-42 in overtime. Lavar Harewood led the Green and White with 14 points.

Brooks knocked off top seed Beaver Country Day 67-61 in OT. Brooks will be going for its first New England Prep title today (3:30 p.m., at Clark, vs. Cheshire) since the Harold Starks era in the early '80s.

The Brooks boys basketball team recorded a sweet payback victory over Beaver Country Day, 54-36, in the first round of the Class B prep tournament yesterday. Beaver Country Day is the defending B champ and knocked Brooks out of the tournament last year.

Defending New England Prep Class B champion Beaver Country Day ousted Brooks in the semifinals last year but the Green and White got some revenge with a 70-62 win, handing BCD it's first loss. Jayde Dawson (29 points, 11 rebounds) and freshman Ikenna Ndugba (24 points, 7 assists) led the way.

Competing in the Brown Northeast Championships at Goddard Park in Warwick, R.I., Timberlane senior Hannah Kimball had his best race of the season, finishing third overall in 18:59 on the 5K course. Kate Estep also ran well, finishing 15th. Both the Timberlane boys and girls came in 15th. The boys were led by Zach Bowen in 59th (17:24) followed by Peter Saviano in 61st and James Busi in 64th.
