The Masconomet girls hockey co-op had a lot to celebrate on Wednesday, as the Cheiftains beat Marblehead 5-2 to clinch the program's first ever Northeastern Conference title while also locking up a state tournament bid. Newburyport's Sami Kelleher and Georgetown's Erin Irons and Kate Irons were among the goal scorers, and Newburyport's Molly Elmore made 24 saves.

The Chieftains stayed sharp on Wednesday night, collecting three tallies en route to their ninth win of the season. Senior Sami Kelleher netted two goals while Lexi Rosenbaum added another. Newburyport native Molly Elmore continued her stellar season with 15 saves in net.

The Andover girls hockey team lost Saturday to Shrewsbury, the ninth-ranked team in the Hockey Night in Boston Division 1 poll, on a goal with 16 seconds left. Sunday another bitter loss seemed inevitable for the Golden Warriors. but with left 1:58 left Emily Wagner scored and with 55 seconds left Ally Wright scored for a pulsating 3-2 win over Masconomet, the Chieftains second loss of the year. Sean D'Urso had 21 saves in the win.

Newburyport's Sami Kelleher scored twice as the Masconomet girls hockey co-op beat Medford-Malden 3-0 on Saturday. Triton's Riane Vatcher and Newburyport's Mikayla Vincent each had assists, and Port's Molly Elmore made 24 saves. 

Newburyport's Molly Elmore made 23 saves as the Masconomet girls hockey co-op shut out Medford 2-0 on Saturday. Fellow Clipper Sami Kelleher scored the first goal, Mikayla Vincent had the other and Abby Gendron and Gianna Conte had the assists.

Newburyport's Sami Kelleher scored in the third period to help the Masconomet girls hockey co-op tie Winthrop 4-4 in the season opener. Abby Gendron scored twice and Charisse Flanagan had a goal as well.
