The once-beaten Peabody High boys soccer team (13-1-0) rates as one of the stingiest editions in the school's history. It has allowed just nine goals in 14 games (a .642 percentage). While keepers Brian Fleming and Justin Famiglietti can take a justifiable bow for those numbers, but there's more than meets the eye here.

But the stellar defense turned in by host Peabody High did not allow for many scoring chances. As a result, Salem suffered its first loss of the season, a 2-0 setback to the Tanners in their first matchup as Northeastern Conference rivals.
