MANCHESTER, N.H. — "Stonewall Derhak, stonewall Derhak," the Londonderry students chanted with 6:21 remaining in the first half when Londonderry junior keeper Kelsey Derhak made a nifty diving save to her left to keep the score tied 0-0.

EXETER — “We’re going to the show. We’re going to the show. We’re going to the show.” That is what excited Londonderry soccer players chanted among themselves after shaking hands with Hollis-Brookline players yesterday. The No. 6 Lancers upset the No. 2 Cavaliers 1-0 in a Division 1 semifinal game. The Londonderry goal was scored by freshman Maeve Holland, who started the year out at defense but was moved to midfield after suffering a concussion. “She played center-back for the first eight games,” Lancers coach Derek Dane said. “Then, she was out with a concussion for three weeks and actually I put her out wide (at midfield) to lessen the likelihood that she has to head the ball. If you think about a head injury, I want to keep her out of harm’s way.” Holland scored with 15:50 remaining in the first half. She was assisted by Shea Williams. “She’s a freshman,” chanted the Londonderry student section after Holland’s goal, her sixth of the year. “It was really fun and I don’t know much else to say about it,” Holland said. “It was just a perfect pass. It split the defenders and then I just touched it through. I am so excited. This is going to be wicked fun going to the championship. I’m way excited.” Dane added about Holland: “(She’s) very, very athletic. She is not afraid to make runs. ... We look to play forward as quickly as possible, get it into Lydia (Simmons) and then who is going to run for it? “What has happened the last three games is that we get it forward to Lydia, and Maeve starts running and (Simmons) gets it out to Maeve and away she goes.” Dane spoke with Holland before moving her to midfield. Dane said, “I asked, ‘Where would you like to play?’ And she said, ‘I would like to play striker.’ I said, “Yeah, I know. Everybody does. Where else would you like to play?’ She said that she’s comfortable playing on the left side.” Londonderry goalie Kelsey Derhak made 11 saves after the 13-4-2 Lancers’ ninth shutout of the season. “Stonewall Derhak, Stonewall Derhak,” the Londonderry students chanted after Derhak made a nice save about 50 seconds after Holland’s goal.    “We worked so hard,” Derhak, a junior, said. “We had some ups and downs during the season. We lost some games we shouldn’t have. But we came back and now we’re going to the championship.” One of those losses was to Hollis-Brookline 3-2 on Sept. 14. “What we talked about is not letting No. 19 (Alyssa Cappetta) in the middle of the field roam around and pick us apart,” Dane said.

Maeve Holland's overtime goal in the 90th minute propelled No. 6 Londonderry to a 2-1 win over No. 3 Salem, in ysterday's Division 1 quarterfinal action.  Lydia Simmons assisted on the goal, which backed the a solid goalkeeping perfromance from Kelsy Derhak (6 saves).

Londonderry netted three first-half goals to beat Alvirne 3-1 in the New Hampshire Division 1 soccer tournament.

Maeve Holland potted a pair of goals and also helped out Lydia Simmons' goal. Kelsey Derhak stopped four shots.

Moving up from JVs due to injuries, Emily Swanson played an exemplary game at center midfield as Timberlane stepped up for a 1-1 overtime deadlock against powerful Londonderry. Lydia Simmons scored for the Lancers.

Goals from Leah Walter and Alyssa Holland within three minutes of each other in the frist half locked up Londonderry's 3-0 soccer victory over Concord.

Lydia Simmons pumped in three more goals and Aliza Simpson added a goal and two assists as Londonderry soccer whipped Spaulding 5-0.

Sophomore Lydia Simmons recorded a hat trick to lead Londonderry girls soccer to a 6-0 win over Manchester Memorial. Freshman Aliza Simpson scored twice in her debut. Londonderry  outshot Memorial 21-2.
