Methuen's softball team, which struggled last week, whipped a strong Chelmsford club 15-0 in six innings on Senior Night to improve to 13-5 entering the Methuen Tournament this weekend. Rebecca Armstrong was 3 for 5 with five RBIs and winning pitcher Sarra Bergeron, who threw a three-hitter, was also 3 for 5 with three RBIs. Abbey Carbonneau was 3 for 4 and scored twice.

Read More »Central Catholic sophomore Meg Donegan had a perfect game with two outs in the bottom of the seventh at Chelmsford before a bloop single ruined a tremendous performance. That turned out to be the only baserunner against Donegan, who struck out six, in Central's 6-1 victory. Kayla Maloney had a home run for the Raiders and Donegan also had an RBI ands scored a run.
