Raiders make it!

 

Central Catholic's softball team dug deep Sunday and surged past Chelmsford 9-5 to qualify for the state tournament for at least the 16th straight year, ending the regular season with a 10-10 record. Alyssa Fusco had a three-run homer in the fourth for the Raiders and winning pitcher Hayley Rapaglia later added a solo homer. Sarah Janco was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored.

Rangers walk off

After Chelmsford scored four in the top of the seventh and Methuen softball answered back with three to tie things up in the bottom half, the Rangers walked it off in the ninth inning, winning, 7-6. Emma McAlpine's fly-out to left was enough to bring home pinch-runner Makenna Donovan for the victory.

Chittick silences Chelmsford

Julia Chittick tossed a complete game shutout, allowing just two hits to lead North Andover softball to an 8-0 win over Chelmsford. Olivia Rondeau went 3 for 4 and scored three runs.

Late rally

Trailling by one run in the top of the seventh, Methuen softball rallied for four scores to beat Chelmsford, 11-8. Cori Rizzo went 4 for 4 and started the seventh with a double and Stephanie Tardugno (3-4, 4 RBIs) drove in two runs in the frame. Dana Littlefield hit a solo home run in the third inning, as well.

Andover walks off

Ashley Cocchiaro's base hit scored Paige Gillette to top off a two-run seventh inning that gave Andover softball a 6-5 walk-off win over Chelmsford. Cocchiaro was also the winning pitcher for the 3-0 Warriors.
