The Triton volleyball team won its second straight, beating Newburyport 3-0 on Monday. Coming off a thrilling five-set win at Georgetown, the Vikings didn't need another comeback, sweeping the match 25-12, 25-23, 25-23. Evelyn Pearson led the team in aces (5) and tied with Maggie Bowen for the lead in digs (5), Colleen McCarthy had a team-high eight kills and Caitie Rooney had 10 assists.

Newburyport lost the first set 20-25, won the second 26-24 and then got creamed 9-25 in the third before rallying back and winning the fourth 25-23, setting up the decisive fifth set. The two teams tied 15-15 to effectively go to sudden death, but Hamilton-Wenham got the winning points to take the final set 17-15. Sydney Yim led Newburyport with five kills, five blocks and six aces, and Grace Shelley added five kills in the loss.
