Pinkerton's King wins New England title

DURHAM, N.H. — J.J. King, who has oinly done track for two years, won the javelin at the 73rd annual New England Championships at UNH's Reggie Atkins Track.

The senior, who is a UNH recruit, threw 189-4. The 6-4, 215-pounder's third of six throws was the big one. It was just off his modern school record of 190-5. Rhode Island freshman Ian Hall was runner-up with a 185-2 throw. Pinkerton senior Noah Woodman took second in the 400 (49.05) and anchored the Astros' eighth-place 4x400 relay. That quartet, which also included Jadyn Ruimwijk, Adam Spencer and Pat Hanlon, was clocked in 3:27.89.

Sawyer doubles for Jags

Double-winner Spenser Sawyer, sprint standout Matt Garafano, multi-talented James Williams and impressive freshman Quinn Cerami starred as Windham placed second to Portsmouth (89-68.5) at the Division 2 State Meet. Pelham's Cam Starr took a first and a second in the distances.

Big day for Bogannam

Kashief Bogannam had a huge day at the 16th annual Black Bear Invitational. The Sanborn senior won the 100 meters (11.57), placed second in the triple jump (40-7.25), was second in the 400 (52.76) and was part of the fourth-place 4x100 relay team (45.76).
