No. 1 Pinkerton field hockey's Lauren Lisauskas opened the flood gates with a goal, and then Carly Young scored twice to lead the Astros to a 4-0 win over No. 9 Salem in the Division 1 quarterfinals. Pinkerton will play Londonderry in the semis at Bill Ball Stadium Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Salem's field hockey team won its first-round Division 1 tourney game, defeating Merrimack 2-0 with Chloe Sicard scoring both goals and Jaycie Ritter making eight saves. The Blue Devils (8-6-1) will be at Pinkerton at 2 p.m. Saturday in the quarterfinals.

Julia Whitley snapped a 2-2 tie with five minutes left as Salem field hockey downed Concord, 3-2. Jaycie Ritter got the win in net.

Mackenzie Svenson brought the ball 75 yards downfield in overtime, passed it to Kayleigh Greenfield, who got it to Chloe Sicard for the game's only goal in a 1-0 Salem field hockey win over Nashua South.

Timberlane field hockey shaded Salem, 2-1, on a Rachel Paradis goal with 11:25 to play. Kylie Fitzpatrick had the other Owl goal while Mackenzie Svenson tallied for Salem.

With four and a half minutes remaining in overtime, senior co-captain Maddie Rastello took a pass off a corner and sent in a hard, low shot to send Salem to a thrilling, 4-3, win over Bedford. Kayleigh Greenfield, Briana Boucher and Grace Owaida also scored for the streaking Blue Devils (3-1).

Salem field hockey got two goals from Kayleigh Greenfield to take a 2-1 win over Nashua North and move to 2-1 on the season.
