Danielle McAdam fired a pass to Lexi Davidson, who knocked it home for the game-winning overtime goal that gave No. 8 North Andover field hockey a 2-1 win over No. 9 Chelmsford in the Division 1 North first round. The Knights travel to top-seed Acton-Boxboro on Sunday.

Andover prevails

 

Andover's field hockey team won a tough test against Chelmsford, 1-0. Rapidly improving Emma Farnham scored for the Warriors and Caroline Curtin, Jillian Hughes and Caileigh Reming all played exceptional defense. Meg Hartnett had a season-high five saves for the Warriors (16-1). Chelmsford lost for only the second time all year, both to Andover.

Bagley's comeback

Trailing 4-1 with 15 minutes left, Sara Bagley promptly scored three goals in a 7:30 stretch and North Andover field hockey tied Chelmsford 4-4. Danielle Jilson also played a fine all-around game.

Keefe is clutch

Emma Farnham moved a pass in front of the net to Brenna Keefe, who fought through a scrum and scored with 5:12 left in the game to give Andover a 1-0 victory over archrival Chelmsford. The Lions beat the Golden Warriors a season ago, ruining their unbeaten regular season.

Bagley on fire

Sophomore Sara Bagley scored three goals in her varsity debut and Lexi Davidson added a goal and an assist as North Andover field hockey opened with a 4-2 win over Chelmsford. Knights coach Courtney Breen said in seven previous meetings NA had never beaten the Lions.
