Fishermen pick up vital road win

At the start of a tough week with four games in it, Fishermen senior pitcher Kyle Habecker gave his teammates and coaches exactly what they needed: quality innings.

"It was a very solid performance," said Gloucester (7-6) head coach Joe Orlando about Habecker. "He kept them off-balance and most importantly, he ate up the innings."

Winthrop outslugs Beverly

Despite trailing 7-2 after two innings, the Panthers (7-4) came right back to tie it 7-7. The squads were deadlocked 9-9 before the Vikings got the last surge to pull ahead for good and win 14-12. Andy Brown spraked Beverly by going 2 for 4 with three runs scored while Conor Walsh went 4 for 5 and Jack Leathersich and Paul Drinkwater each chipped in two hits.
