Championship Rangers

Methuen beat Chelmsford 36-31 to clinch a share of the MVC Large title. Dan O'Connell's decision in the second to last match clinched the win. Christian Clermont and Travis Abdallah had crucial pins and Chris Saba won a thriller at 220.

NA bounces back

 

North Andover bounced back from a loss to Lowell earlier in the week with a big 38-30 win over Chelmsford to stay in the Merrimack Valley Conference race, setting up a showdown with Methuen at home Wednesday. Adrian Polanco and Stephen Manning had pivotal pins against the Lions and Jack Perry and Fritz Hoen both had a pair of pins for the Knights, who also beat Dracut 51-22.

Kiely ties it

 

Jack Kiely couldn't quite get the pin but his technical fall in the final match, at 120, gave Central Catholic a 36-36 tie against highly regarded Chelmsford. Joe Sanchez and Brandon Desfosses had pins in the last 10 seconds of their matches and heavyweight Carlos Cabrera continued to wrestle well, recording a pin in 18 seconds.

Chretien comes back

 

Haverhill junior Luc Chretien had a disappointing performance at the Lowell Holiday Tournament, but he made up for it yesterday at the Chelmsford Tournament.

Chretien had two first period pins and then convincingly handled No. 1 seed Duncan Kepner of Chrlmsford in the finals, 11-5.
