WORCESTER — From afar, the Andover High girls tennis team looked like a two-ton wrecking ball.

NEWTON — First singles player Samantha Camilo won the final match of the day to give Andover a 3-2 win over Westford yesterday in the Division 1 North final at Newton North High.

The senior beat talented frosh Clare Yu 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) to earn the Golden Warriors (21-0) a spot in the state semifinals. That's at an undertmined date and site against the winner of Friday's Needham-Barnstable South final match.

Andover's girls tennis team romped past Masconomet 5-0 in the Division 1 North semifinals to advance to the North finals against Westford. The Warriors, now 20-0, didn't lose a set against Masco.

Trailing 4-2 in the third set, freshman Courtney Nash won the last four games to lift the Andover girls tennis team past Acton-Boxboro 3-2 in the Division 1 North quarterfinals. The unbeaten Warriors (19-0) will face the Cambridge-Masconomet winner in the semifinals.

With the Andover-Lexington match deadlocked at 2-2, Golden Warrior Courtney Nash earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles to clinch the team win.

Andover High doubles team Paige Webster and Pooja Mukund won two matches at the North individual state tournament in Lexington to advance to the finals.

Merrimack College senior goalkeeper Inna Hedden has been selected to participant in the 2014 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association/DeBeer Division II North/South Senior All-Star Game.

With the match tied, Andover captain Samantha Camilo first singleswon in three sets to lift the Warriors past Winchester 3-2.

Andover's girls tennis team won its third straight match 5-0 meaning that no Warrior has yet to taste defeat. Freshman Courtney Nash wion 6-0, 6-1 at third singles.
