North Andover's volleyball team completed its best-ever regular season (18-1) by thumping Chelmsford in three games to earn a share of the Merrimack Valley Conference title with Andover. Catherine Flaherty had 12 kills and Erin Cox had 28 assists to lead the way.

The Merrimack College field hockey team (7-4) dominated-ninth-ranked Bentley University 3-0 yesterday as North Andover's Candace Waldie had three assists and merrimac's Maura Doyle had a goal and two assists.

North Andover's volleyball team lost its first game to Chelmsford but then won three straight to remain unbeaten (11-0). Caroline Schmidt had 20 service points, including seven aces, and 16 digs to lead the Knights.

Methuen 3, Chelmsford 1

Alicia Miller recorded 16 kills, 10 blocks, 19 service points and seven aces as Methuen won 3-1 over Chelmsford in girls volleyball. 

Ninth-year coach Matt Twomey said it was the first time in his tenure that Methuen has beaten Chelmsford at Chelmsford.
