Astros roll into championship

KEENE — Now that Pinkerton once again has washed its hands of preliminary opponents, the Astros can set their sights on what matters most.

As it has for most of the past decade, third-seeded Pinkerton dispatched a semifinal opponent with its convincing 44-20 victory over second-seeded Keene yesterday, earning a spot in the Division I title game.

Urbanik unleashes offensive barrage for Astros

 
MERRIMACK — Pinkerton hit the road and invaded Merrimack High, a team that was giving up 41.0 points a game coming in.
The Astros were without Manny Latimore (leg) and it hardly mattered as they pummeled the Tomahawks, 63-21.
Sophomore T.J. Urbanik touched the ball nine times on offense and scored TDs on five of the touches. He finished the night with 8 carries for 214 yards with a 38-yard catch to add to the carnage.
Matt Madden ran eight times for 100 yards and a score for the Astros, who host Londonderry in the playoff opener next weekend.

Pinkerton's ground game crushes Goffstown

DERRY — When he's 64, chances are Matt Madden will remember the day he turned 18.

Yesterday was the Pinkerton senior's birthday and he sure had a good time, scoring three times and surpassing the 100-yard mark for the first time in his career, leading the Astros to a 56-21 victory over Goffstown.

Cyr, Astros rout West

Peter Cyr returned an interception 99 yards as Pinkerton rolled 63-12 over Manchester West. 

T.J. Urbanik rushed for an 11-yard touchdown and also caught a 40-yard TD score from Jack Hanaway as Pinkerton — which improved to 5-2 — led 35-0 at the end of the first quarter.  Urbanik also had a 47-yard punt return during the second quarter.
