Georgetown falls to Generals

Tom Zargaj rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown, but Georgetown fell to Hamilton-Wenham 34-14 yesterday.

Kenny Haskell added the other Royals score, a 1-yard run. All of Georgetown's points came in the fourth after the Generals jumped out to a 20-0 first-quarter lead and scored once each in the second and third quarter.

Royals hang tough

Trying to overcome a spate of injuries, Georgetown was unable to overcome Amesbury's tough rushing attack in a 43-14 loss.

Tom Zargaj ran for a 17-yard touchdown late in the first half while Zack Curtin tossed an 18-yard scoring pass to Patrick Bjork midway through the fourth quarter for Georgetown's only touchdowns.

Wildcats hang on to down Royals

Whittier battled to a 26-point third-quarter lead, then had to hold off Georgetown's comeback surge to win a 52-48 shootout. Jesus Sanchez rushed for 193 yards and four touchdowns for the winning Wildcats, who added four takeaways on defense. Spread quarterback Niko Edwards was the total package for the Royals, rushing for 179 yards and three touchdowns while throwing for 232 yards and three more scores.

Revere, Georgetown

REVERE — In the first quarter, Georgetown's Niko Edwards scored on a 6-yard run and threw a 42-yard scoring pass to Colby Ingraham.

But Revere (2-0) dominated the rest of the way to earn a 32-12 victory.
