Triton's Whitman proved too tough, though, slamming the door in a two-hitter as the Vikes upset Pentucket, 4-0. With the Sachem loss, North Andover claimed sole possession of the CAL Large baseball title. Corey McNamara broke up Whitman's no-hit bid with a solid single in the sixth.

Whittier's baseball team continued to roll, blasting Triton 11-1. Paul Mahoney threw a nifty two-hitter, striking out 11, and the Wildcats (5-0) pulled away with a seven-run second inning highlighted by a Brian Vezina (2 for 4) triple and a three-run double by Andrew Wells (3 for 4).
Read More »After Triton rallied with two runs to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning, Stas Firek spanked a single that scored Jon DelaCruz with the game-winner as Haverhill prevailed, 7-6. DelaCruz had three hits including a home run, four RBIs and a stolen base in the victory.
