Five-star performance

Ian Mitchell scored five goals for Pentucket, but it still wasn't enough as the Sachems fell to Masconomet, 8-6. Pentucket scored five times in the third periiod.  Tom Pingree had the other Pentucket goal.  He also had three assists.

Late game heroics

Trailing by two goals heading into the third period, Pentucket exploded for five goals in the final frame to beat Masconomet 6-4. Joe Mangano and Ian Mitchell each scored twice for the Sachems.

Bouncing back

Youthful Amesbury-Whittier is maturing, and winning, as shown by its 3-1 hockey defeat of Masconomet. Underclassmen ruled the scoresheet as freshman Tabor Smith and sophomore Connor Stevens lit the lamp for the co-op team and junior Evan King turned aside 24 Chieftain shots. "This is our first win over Masco in a number of years," said head coach Chris Kucher. "The younger kids are coming a long way and it's good to see that happening." In just six games, Amesbury-Whittier has more wins (3) than it did all last year.

MVP Rivet

Dan Rivet was named MVP as North Andover won the Guptill Division of the Haverhill Christmas Tourney. Rivet had one goal in yesterday's 4-1 win over Masconomet and three in the two games. Ricky O'Connor scored twice yesterday and Ryan Sweeney had three assists while Daniel O'Connor and Jack Carroll logged big minutes on defense.
