Olivia Boudreau scored five goals as North Andover held off upset-minded Newburyport, 13-11. Co-captain Bridget Kitchen came up big with 12 saves. The Knights can clinch the CAL Large title outright with a win over Masconomet Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Walsh Stadium.

Parity in the CAL

In a back-and-forth battle, Georgetown took its final lead with three minutes left and held on for a 14-13 girls lacrosse victory over Newburyport. "I think this is how the CAL will be," Royals coach Heather Hartford said, "there's parity across the board. Whoever makes least amount of mistakes will win." Sam Francesconi was immense on defense for Georgetown while Michelle Reilly (four goals), Chelsea Burke and Mimi Lacortiglia (three goals each) drove the offense.

Tough start for Hillies

Haverhill got off to a shaky start to its season, falling behind quickly to Newburyport and upable to catch up in a 15-6 defeat. Nathalie Nader and Lindsay DiBurro were the most consistent Hillies on the field, turning in strong overall efforts.
