After dropping the first two games, Andover volleyball rallied for a thrilling 3-2 win over Algonquin on Monday, taking the fifth game 15-13. David Gao led the Golden Warriors with 13 service points, Owen Chanthaboun added 21 kills and Enzo Masters had 20 digs for the winners.

Joe Bucci lashed a 2-run single in the top of the seventh and Andover survived a 2-run Algonquin rally in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 6-5 win.Tyler Walles had two hits, two runs and an RBI.

Methuen/Tewksbury scored a goal in each period to defeat Algonquin 3-1, improving its record to 8-1. Lydia Pendleton, Kelly Golini and Caroline Curley scored for the Red Rangers. 

Reece Millington remained on a roll as the postseason nears with four wins at 160 and Jake Prescott followed him by going 4-0 at 170 as Haverhill won three of four meets to improve to 18-10.

WORCESTER — Andover field hockey coach Maureen Noone really didn't know what to expect entering this season after losing her four-year starting goalie to graduation and nearly all of her defenders from the previous year's squad, also to graduation. 

North Andover placed fifth in the Girls All State Gymnastics meet. The Scarlet Knights were led by Michelle Hall, who finished eighth overall with a 35.975 and Meghan Buttress rounded out the top-10 with a 35.425
