Despite big day for Kruy, Phillips falls

Phillips running back T.J. Hickey's 2-yard touchdown run tied the game 7-7 early in the second quarter, but that is as close as the Big Blue would get as they fell to Worcester Academy 47-22 yesterday.

"We were overmatched," said Phillips coach Leon Modeste. "We sputtered, then we picked it up but we didn't have enough to stop them."

Joe Kruy was a bright spot for the Big Blue. He carried 13 times for 135 yards and a 4-yard score, Phillips' last of the day. Hickey scored twice and ran for 43 yards total.

"Hopefully we can turn it around next week against (Phillips) Exeter," said Modeste. "If we can win that game, we will finish with a smile."
