Harrington hits Phillips past Brooks

Jacque Harrington led the way with a pair of hits and three RBIs to lift the Phillips softball team to a 9-4 win over Brooks. Hannah Cuff, Racehl Moore and Jess Blumenthal each also had two hits in the win for Big Blue (12-3).

Phillips falls in semis

Dexter Southfield just has Phillips' number.

After Phillips baseball suffered it's first loss of the season to Dexter on Wednesday, the two teams met again in the semifinals of the New England Prep School tournament late Saturday. The result was the same, however, with Big Blue falling 2-0, getting stopped a game short of a chance for a repeat title.

Phillips girls take first; Allard shines

It was a great day for the Phillips girls track team, which raced to first at the NEPSTA Division 1 Championship with 111 points, topping rival Exeter in second place (98). Tessa Conrardy won the 300 hurdles (46.39), took a third in the 100 hurdles (15.48) and ran a leg on both the winning 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay teams. Athalia Esty, Myra Bhathena and Victoria Kadiri joined her on the 4x100 relay (50.16), and Esty, Bhathena and Lillie Cooper joined her on the 4x400 (4:02.61).

Phillips wins pair in Big East, advance to semis


It wasn't easy, but Phillips Academy won twice Saturday to advance in the winner's bracket to the semifinals in the Big East tournament. After defeating St. Paul's 1-0 in the morning, the Big Blue rallied with three runs in the sixth to tie the game and then scored four times in the eighth for a 7-4 victory over Phillips Exeter. Cassidy Musco hit a home run in the second game and Andover's Hannah Cuff stayed red-hot. going 3 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Warriors well-represented at North Sectional

The Andover girls tennis team had a handful of athletes advance to Sunday's third round of the North Sectional Individual Championship. Isabel Zhou won 6-0, 6-1 in her one match, and Corina Muntean also advanced in singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win and a 6-3, 6-1 win in the second round. At doubles, Annette Kim and Caroline Yang won their one match 6-4, 6-3, and Anna Higgins and Grace Lyons won two matches 6-0, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-4.

Warriors moving on

A trio of Andover boys tennis players advanced during Saturday's opening round of the North Sectional individual tournament. David Grossman won two matches comfortably at singles, 6-0, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1, and Avi Jonarthanan is also advancing after a 6-4, 6-4 win. At doubles, the Warriors' top team of Sam Feng and Bryan Hun Htun won 6-4, 6-1. The individual tournament continues Sunday.
