NORTH ANDOVER — Brooks bounced back nicely from its first loss of the season with a solid 31-7 victory over The Governor's Academy.
Ahead 10-7 at halftime, the Green and White scored 21 straight points in the third quarter to pull away. Jordan Johnson (16 rushes, 107 yards) led the outburst with a 23-yard pass to Brian Chalebois, Andrew Coke then threw a 45-yard halfback pass to Methuen's Jason Buco and Johnson completed the scoring with a 23-yard run.
Johnson, who had opened the scoring with a 3-yard run in the second quarter, was also 9 of 14 through the air for 100 yards. Joon Lee was perfect with four extra-point kicks and also booted a 29-yard field goal.
Ryan Gibeley led a fine defensive performance by Brooks (5-1) with six tackles and a sack and both Charlebois and Colin Lahif were solid.
Brooks is at Nobles next Saturday and, if it wins its last two games, could be bowl-bound.
