NORTH ANDOVER — Once the puck left Brendan McCarron's stick, only the net could have stopped it.
The senior co-captain picked up a loose puck just inside the blue line and blasted it into the top right corner of the net to break a tie and send the Raiders on their way to a
Andover opening the scoring with 4:25 left in the first when Paul Russel scored off an assist from George Flanagan. But just 2:20 later, Central's Connor MacPhee tossed a puck in from the blue line that drifted into the net to make it 1-1.
The Golden Warriors retook the lead 2:53 into the second thanks to a goal by Flanagan on a two-man advantage. It was his 13th goal of the year. But back came the Raiders, as MacPhee tallied his second off assists from Shane Leonard and Cody Jaskot.
The second was a rough one that saw seven penalties called. Each team was hit with two five-minute majors after a scuffle behind the Andover goal.
