The beat goes on for the Tiberlane wrestling team, even when it seems unlikely.
The Owls swept a quad-meet with Connecticut powers Danbury (50-14) and Xavier (46-22) as well as Nashoba Regional Saturday to improve to 14-0. The Owls have now won 44 straight dual meets, their last loss coming to Danbury in 2017.
There were plenty of heroes in this one, but none more so than sophomore Jake Rousseau, who filled in for banged-up Nick Roeger at 113 and delivered three pins, and senior heavyweight Marcos Colon, who also had three pins.
Nick Pallaria was also 3-0 in a tough 138-pound class and both Cody Wild and Connor McGonagle were also 3-0.
There were also more unsung heroes on the day like freshman Cooper Kelley, who was 2-1 at 170, and Joe Friel, who had two pins at 160.
"It was a great day of wrestling for our kids," said Timberlane coach Barry Chooljian. "We turned a close match with Danbury into a nice win. I felt we really stepped it up."
The match with Danbury was particularly intense, so much so that two spectators were ejected from the building.
