The Lawrence boys soccer team picked up what is believed to be the first Merrimack Valley Conference victory in 10 years, a 3-0 triumph over Methuen.

"It's moving in the right direction," third-year coach Don Sheldon said of the program. "Every year we're improving, we're more competitive."

Francesco Cuesta, Jimmy Castro and Jose Ossers each had a goal and an assists for the Lancers (5-8-3).
