The Newburyport Clippers (9-2-3) beat the Triton Vikings (2-7-5) yesterday, 3-0, extending their season-best six-game win streak. The tourney bound Clippers notched a goal from Cassandra Davis in the first half thanks to an assist from Callie Hefferan, and then added two more scores in the second from Ashley Waters and Hefferan. The Clippers had the advantage in offensive corners (6-5) and shots on goal (13-2).
"The girls are all playing with real excitement right now," said Clipper coach Lauren Hefferan. "Najah Ali and Taylor Damon played great on defense, and subs Alex Haley, Samantha Maguire, MacKenzie Maguire, and Amelia Manni came in and did excellent jobs."
