Shi leads Andover to fifth

Eric Shi placed second in the 100 breaststroke (58.26) and fourth in 200 IM (1:55.93) to help lead Andover to a fifth-place finish at the Division 1 Mass. boys state swim meet Sunday.
Andover led all MVC schools with 144 points.
Central Catholic came in seventh (133 points). Haverhill was 17th (41 points) and North Andover came in 25th (20 points).
Central's Drew Carbone came in second in the 100 backstroke (50.73) and third in the 200 IM (1:55.47). He and Will Pannos, Griffin Anderson and Lucas Barnes also helped the Raiders' 200 medley relay to a third-place finish.
Pannos was second in the 100 butterfly (51.23) as well.
Andover's Adi Arifovic took third in the 200 freestyle (1:43.55) and third in the 500 freestyle (4:41.58). He also was on Andover's third place 400 freestyle relay with Shi, Max Blanch and Nathan Hamer.
