WESTON  — After struggling through three losses, the Brooks football team put it all together yesterday with a 36-7 thumping of host Rivers.

The Green and White showed good balance offensively with a solid ground game to go along with improving sophomore KJ Moore, who threw three touchdowns, and its defense dominated.

Chris Cervizzi led the rushing attack with 101 yards and two touchdowns while Coy Candelario gained 70 yards ion just seven carries and Geoff Fulgione chipped in with 38 yards on six attempts.

Moore, meanwhile, was 8 of 17 and had scoring strikes of five and 31 yards to Andrew Hulshult and 20 yards to Luke Hajdukiewicz.

"It's his (Moore's) second game starting and he's becoming more comfortable," said Brooks coach Alex Konovalchik. "That just makes us much stronger."

Defensively, Brooks held Rivers to 48 yards rushing and applied constant pressure. Andrew Kimball had three of the team's six quarterback sacks, Josh Jacobo had an interception and Ryan Miles stood out up front.

"We played well and the news is that Rivers isn't bad," said Konovalchik. "They beat Groton last week and Groton had beaten us."
