Hobey Baker candidate Joe Cannata of Merrimack College was named the Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season as the Warriors moved up to sixth in the USCHO National poll.
Cannata stopped 63 of 67 shots on the weekend, including 39 (five in overtime) in Saturday’s 2-2 tie with Maine.
The senior netminder became the program’s all-time leader in Division I history with 2,698 career saves, passing Joe Exter.
