Masconomet held two of the state's top scorers, Ryan Smith (55 points) and John Connolly (40 points) off the scoreboard, but were hurt by a pair of unassisted goals over the first two periods in falling to Lynnfield, 2-1.
Sophomore Ryan Dooley scored his third goal of the season, off a third period faceoff, for the Chieftains (10-7-0), which also got an outstanding two-way outing from junior rearguard Keaton Cashin.
"We played very well defensively; I can't fault our effort," head coach Bill Blackwell said.
