Sachems survive against Reggies

WEST NEWBURY — It took a big second half from Corey McNamara and Pentucket to hold off a Greater Lawrence squad fighting to play at least one more game.

McNamara’s game-high 27 points, with a season-best seven 3-pointers, allowed the Sachems to survive for a 68-62 victory, eliminating the Reggies from the postseason in the process.

Grant-led Wildcats down Reggies in OT

WHITTIER — Having already clinched a playoff berth, Whittier was looking for a boost before entering the postseason.

Central Catholic jumped out to a 54-19 halftime lead and rolled to a 90-53 win over Greater Lawrence Tech in the third-place game. Evan Sheehan, who is rounding into shape nicely from an early-season injury, led all scorers with 24. Donald Celestin had 13 for the Reggies.
