Methuen's boys basketball team clinched the MVC small school title with a 51-48 victory over Methuen. James Staples, battling a call, sank his only shot of the night — a 3-pointer — with 11 seconds left to clinch it for the Rangers (9-7). Raudy Minaya had four 3-pointers and 14 points.
