it was Senior night for Brooks high school last night.  The star player for Brooks was Appalonia Tankerfley who had 16 rebounds and 12 points.  This was her last home game and will be attending college in the fall.

The Governor's Academy 56, Brooks 38

Despite suffering a 56-38 setback to The Governor's Academy, Brooks is receiving improved play from guard Thalia Garcia. The freshman from Hudson, N.H. is making great strides at both ends of the court, leading Brooks with 15 points including a pair of 3-point hoops and adding six assists. North Andover's Appalonia Tankersley is also contributing well as she had 13 points and 11 rebounds against Governor's.

NECC reunion win

In front of a reunion crowd that included players from the last 10 years, Northern Essex won a thriller, 74-73 over Springfield Tech. Methuen's Matt Richardson had a huge game with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 steals and got the winning point with a free throw. Anthony Siri had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Knights, who improved to 9-9.

Groton 63, Brooks 55 (OT)

A physical game took its toll against a young but determined Brooks squad, who dropped a 63-55 overtime verdict to Groton.

North Andover's Appalonia Tankersley, the lone senior now playing on a squad with eight freshmen, dropped in 17 points including eight free throws and added 10 rebounds.

Brooks begins remodeling project

With eight freshmen on the roster, Brooks' head coach Amy Kenneally isn't looking at her team in a rebuilding mode.
