Junior forward Erika Zahoruiko (17 points, 8 rebounds) won the battle of the Zahoruikos (three Zahoruikos, all distant relatives play for Amesbury) in a 39-27 North Andover victory. Katie Moroney chipped in with nine rebounds, five assists and six steals.

Amanda Foote played aggressive defense, converting six steals into a team-high 10 points as North Andover got past Lynnfield, 40-28. Julia Titone commanded the paint with four blocks to go with five points.

Salem's Nora Galvin threw up an unbalanced shot from a few feet beyond the 3-point line right before the halftime buzzer sounded against North Andover in the fifth-place game of the tournament.

METHUEN — Central Catholic senior Katie Zenevitch fired a crisp pass inside to Melissa Miller, who turned and scored an easy basket.

North Andover outlasted Masconomet, 46-41, in overtime.  Amanda Foote, Julia Titone, Katie Moroney and Nikki Karalis combined to hit 7-of-8 from the free throw line during the extra session.  Freshman Morgan Lumb buried a trio of 3-pointers on her way to a game-best 15 points. North Andover is now 2-0.

With just nine seconds left in the game, freshman Morgan Lumb was fouled and knocked down the game-winning free throw as North Andover opened the season with a 42-41 win over Wilmington.
