MANCHESTER – With eight swings and misses since 2013, the state baseball tournament has not been kind to Pinkerton Academy’s program.

In Saturday afternoon’s title game, the second-seeded Astros had another crack at border-rival nemesis Londonderry, which knocked off Pinkerton each of the previous two tournaments and half of those eight years including the 2014 championship match.

Jacob Albert's seventh inning infield grounder with the bases loaded plated Lorenzo Corsetto with the game-winning run as No. 2 Pinkerton earned a walk-off 2-1 victory over No. 7 Winnacunnet in the Division I Quarterfinals. Tommy Rioux had an RBI triple in the fourth and Liam Doyle stuck out 10 and didn't allow an earned run for the Astros, who will face No. 6 Exeter in the semis on Wednesday (4 p.m.) at Holman Stadium in Nashua.

Tom Rioux allowed just two hits and struck out seven in a complete-game effort, as No. 2 Pinkerton beat No. 15 Spaulding 10-0 in the Division 1 first round. 

Jackson Marshall was 2 for 2 with three RBIs as Pinkerton crushed Keene 10-0 in five innings. Elijah Sharp added three more RBIs and scored twice and Jacob Albert drove in two runs.

Jackson Marshall drove in two runs and scored two more and Cole Yennaco scored four runs and added two RBIs as Pinkerton topped Goffstown 13-3 on Friday.

Leo Boucher (4), Casey Watson (7), Max Lukeman (3) and Liam Doyle (3) combined for 17 strikeouts as unbeaten Pinkerton held off upset-minded Salem, 5-4.

Jackson Marshall was 3 for 4 with two runs and Cole Yennaco drove in a pair of runs to lead Pinkerotn an 8-6 win over Concord. 

Liam Doyle overwhelmed Bedford, fanning 14 in five innings of one-hit, zero-walk baseball as Pinkerton blasted Bedford, 18-0, in five innings. The lefty Doyle threw 68 pitches, 51 for strikes. Cole Yennaco had four of the Astros' 14 hits, driving in four. Jacob Albert was 3 for 3, scoring five run and driving in three.

Tom Rioux was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored, and allowed just one earned run and struck out 11 over six innings for the win on the hill, as Pinkerton beat South Portland 7-5. Jackson Marshall added three RBIs for the winners.

Liam Doyle allowed just one hit, no walks and struck out 11 of the 16 batters he faced in a five-inning complete game as Pinkerton beat Alvirne 10-0 in a game shortened by the mercy rule. Matt Barbuto had a hit and drove in three runs and Jacob Albert had two RBIs.
