A wrestling showdown of unbeatens wasn't much of a showdown after all as Central Catholic crushed Methuen 56-12. Sophomore Nick Spero had an impressive 15-8 decision at 106 for the Raiders (10-0) and classmates James Crippen and Jason Belkis both had pins. Central will wrestle the winner of Danvers-Whittier in the D2 sectional Friday or Saturday while Methuen must face unbeaten St. John's Prep Friday in Division 1.

James Bohenko continued to wrestle well, pinning his man in 1:39 at 120 pounds as Central Catholic remained unbeaten (9-0) by routing Lowell 50-24.

As expected, Central Catholic's wrestling team continued to roll, defeating Haverhill, 54-27, for its eighth straight lopsided win. But Haverhill freshman Brent Nicolosi provided a highlight for the Hillies by handing Jimmy Glynn his first loss, 8-4 at 145 pounds. "He (Nicolosi) was impressive," said Central coach Jamie Durkin.

Central Catholic continued to steamroll the opposition on the mat, Crushing Tewksbury 60-21. The Raiders (6-0) had 10 pins, eight by wrestlers who are still unbeaten. Jimmy Glynn had the fastest pin, in 17 seconds.

Central Catholic's wrestling team continued to steamroll the opposition, routing Billerica 54-12 despite having four no contests because Billerica was shorthanded. Freshmen Nate Blanchette and Brandon D'Agostino remained unbeaten for the Raiders (4-0).

Central Catholic's wrestling team continues to roll, whipping Andover 60-12. In the match of the day, freshman Brandon D'Agostino bumped up a weight to 182 and defeated standout Sean Ballou, 8-6.

Central Catholic freshmen Nate Blanchette (160) and Brandon D'Agostino (170) both had pins in the first minute of their matches as the Raiders overwhelmed Chelmsford 60-21 for their second straight win.
