Bicycle Boyle

Jimmy Boyle wowed the North Andover crowd by pulling out an unexpected bicycle kick, which caused a Billerica defender to save the shot with his hand and force a penalty kick. Boyle then calmly stepped up and buried the try, and that was all the top-seeded Knights needed in a 1-0 win in their Division 2 North first round game. The Knights will host No. 9 Concord-Carlisle in the quarterfinals Saturday at 2 p.m.

Gress, Atwood lead upset

Jackson Gress scored two goals and Joe Atwood turned in 14 saves for Andover, which dealt North Andover its second loss of the season, 3-1. Evan Arpin added the other Golden Warrior (8-6-3) goal. Max Camallaro scored for the Scarlet Knights (12-2-2).

The shutout returns

 

After giving up goals in its last two games following 13 straight shutouts, North Andover returned to form with a 4-0 boys soccer blanking of Central Catholic. Jack Detterman scored twice for the Knights (14-1-1) and Tyler Bussell made four saves in goal.

The North Andover boys soccer team continued to smother the opposition, blanking Lowell 3-0. The unbeaten Knights (12-0-1) still have not been scored upon this year. Jimmy Boyle, Michael Harty and Caleb Ginsburg scored for the Knights.

North Andover's boys soccer team got a goal from Caleb Ginsburg and blanked Lawrence 1-0. The Knights improved to 10-0-1 and still have not given up a goal all year, although the Lancers did hit the crossbar on three seperate free kicks.

Wood earns win No. 100

North Andover boys soccer coach Kyle Wood picked up his 100th win on Tuesday after a 1-0 win over Dracut. Andrew Howard scored the goal, and Tyler Bussell pitched the shutout in net for the Knights (7-0-1).

Equi the difference

Junior William Equi's first career varsity goal in the 68th minute stood up and North Andover topped Andover, 1-0. Jimmy Boyle flicked a pass over the goalie's head and Equi volleyed it in. Junior Tyler Bussell posted his seventh shutout of the fall for the 6-0-1 Knights. Jackson Berberich and Johnny Bono also starred.
