Pentucket baseball couldn't stay alive in the Division 1 North tournament, falling to Gloucester, 8-1, in the quarterfinals. The Sachems compiled seven hits, but could only push one run across, thanks to an RBI from Ethan Hunt in the sixth inning.

The Pentucket baseball team was 2-18 all of last spring. But after Saturday's 4-2 win over rival Newburyport, the Sachems (12-7) clinched the CAL Kinney Division championship to complete the epic turnaround. Peter Cleary pitched a complete game with six strikeouts and Kyle Stock had two hits and two RBIs.

Andrew Melone and Ethan Hunt combined to throw a one-hit shutout to lead Pentucket over Triton, 2-0, in the "Pitching for Pete" Frates Tournament. Gus Flaherty singled in Melone in the top of the first, then Kyle Stock gave the Sachems (10-4) some insurance when he singled home Jake Etter in the top of the seventh.

GROVELAND – Entering Monday’s game against Rockport, Pentucket junior Jake Etter was feeling some frustration.

Ipswich rallied to get two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but Peter Cleary came in for the save and got a groundout to third to end the game and help Pentucket survive, 4-3.

A Chris Husak sacrifice fly and a Trevor Blanchard RBI-single put Pentucket up by two in the top of the ninth. Then in the bottom half, Chase Dwight closed the door with a 1-2-3 inning to lift the Sachems past Georgetown, 7-5.

Pentucket baseball ripped off another win, its fifth of the season, thanks to a complete-game effort on the mound from Jake Etter in a 4-0 win over North Reading. 

The Pentucket baseball team only had two wins last season. But through five games this spring, the Sachems are already 4-1 after a 4-3 win over Lynnfield Friday morning. Chris Husak was 3 for 3 with a pair of RBIs in the win.
