After winning its opening round contest 9-8 in double-overtime, the North Andover boys lacrosse team was on the opposite side of the scoreline, dropping a quarterfinal tilt with Acton-Boxboro, 9-8, in overtime. The Knights finish the season at 12-8.

For the second time in one week, freshman Charlie Dean scored the winning goal in overtime to lead North Andover boys lacrosse to a win, this time a second-overtime strike to beat Chelmsford, 9-8, and send the Knights to the Division 1 North quarterfinals. Dean had two goals, while Jack Chace led the way with five for North Andover, which will travel to Acton-Boxboro on Thursday at 4.

North Andover boys lacrosse trailed Burlington 11-6 at one point early in the second half, but rallied back. Jack Chace and his five goals helped send the game to overtime, and in the extra session Charlie Dean scored the game-winner to lift the Knights to a 15-14 win.

Ryan Slattery drew the tough assigment of covering Chelsmford's top scorer, Christian Gastongway, but he was more than up to the task. Slattery shut him out, holding him scoreless as North Andover lacrosse earned a 6-4 win. Matt Niejadlik scored three goals for the Knights (9-6), who qualified for the state tournament.

With 20 seconds left in regulation, Ethan Ford stood tall in net and stopped what would have been the game-tying goal, shot from just eight yards out, to lift North Andover to an 8-7 win over Andover.

Jack Chase scored four goals as North Andover beat Dracut 9-7. Ethan Ford made 12 saves for the win.

Central Catholic boys lacrosse outscored North Andover, 4-1, in the fourth quarter to come back for a 9-8 victory. Michael Finneran led the Raiders with three goals and David Olsen made 12 saves. Zach LeTendre was a force at the X, winning 19 of 21 face-offs for Central.

Shane McInnis had a hat trick and three other players had two goals as Central Catholic opened its season with an impressive 11-4 win over North Andover. Connor Finneran had two goals and two assists for the Raiders.
