Graves hits 500

Despite getting swept out of the state tournament in the quarterfinals by undefeated, top-seed Hollis-Brookline, the Pinkerton volleyball team still had something to cheer about. Senior Amelia Graves had a team-high 8 kills, and every single one was important. Her eighth gave her 500 for her career.

Graves, Pinkerton advance

Amelia Graves scored 11 kills and 22 digs for No. 8 Pinkerton, which topped No. 9 Portsmouth 3-1 in the Division 1 quarterfinals.

Leya Wang added 17 service points and six aces and Ella Dandrade had 34 assists for the Astros, who next travel to play No. 1 Hollis-Brookline on Saturday (6 p.m.)

Leya Wang deliverd the final kill as Pinkerton volleyball earned a thrilling 3-2 win over talented Salem (8-3). The junior had a game-high 15 kills for the Astros (7-4).

Massive run

Trailing 22-13 in the third game, Pinkerton volleyball stormed back with a 13-2 run to win the game 26-24 and earn a match sweep over archrival Londonderry. Leya Wang, who had a team-high 10 kills, had 7 of her team-high 11 service points during the run. Ella Dandrade got the match-clinching kill, set up by an assist from Ella Koelb.

Astros still perfect

 

Pinkerton's volleyball team improved to 4-0 with a sweep of Winnacunnet. Amelia Graves had 18 kills and Ella Dandrade had 17 assists for the Astros. Reese Asselin chipped in with 23 digs.
